Whether they are buildings of historic significance or stunning new creations, FireVu protects them.
From historic national treasures such as London Guildhall and the Houses of Parliament to futuristic landmarks such as The Gherkin and the Co-Op’s new headquarters, all entrust their fire safety to FireVu’s Video Smoke Detection technology.
There can be no compromise over using the most effective fire safety solutions for each site’s requirements.
Both present different challenges. Historic buildings demand that fire detection systems are unobtrusive and do not affect the integrity of the original designs. Yet, there can be no compromise over using the most effective fire safety solutions for each site’s requirements.
FireVu’s detection points can be concealed while offering the fields of view to monitor and protect these high value assets.
Modern creations generally present a different challenge. High-rise buildings, often with voluminous spaces such as storeys high atria, present problems to fire detection systems that rely on smoke particles reaching detection points. Smoke stratifies and in some properties will not reach sensors above certain heights. Yet, even in modern buildings, such as The Gherkin, it was specified that the system had to produce as little “clutter” as possible while monitoring 25 metre deep light wells.
FireVu using Video Smoke Detection is unaffected by such challenges. It can be placed discreetly out of the way, yet its field of view is unhindered. FireVu does not need smoke to reach detection points, it can visually alert designated staff to smoke and a host of other changes that can indicate the start of a fire.
Hotels, leisure and shopping facilities, private commercial property such as banks and public sector buildings all enjoy the fire detection properties of FireVu.
